How does the Incarnation affect how we view systemic issues surrounding sexual exploitation? Christ came among us. Moved into the ‘hood. This act signifies a radical marker for those who identify as followers of Christ. Our bodies – all bodies – have meaning, more than that inscribed upon them by culture. The Divine took on our flesh. Became us, in all of our weaknesss, messiness, uncontrollability. There is a sanctity to the body that is violated every time sex is used as a machination of power. Money changes hands, dominance is exercised, humanity is diminished. Not only the woman’s, but the exploiter’s as well. Jesus, move into our neighborhood again and again.
